The Stamp Art 1956 Monaco Royal Wedding showcase presents an infomative and educational review of the important and unique marraige of the Hollywood Actress Princess to Prince Rainier III. Presented in Artwork Layouts from which a number of ‘Limited Edition’ Fine Artwork prints are available to review and for sale in the Stamp Art Gallery Shop.
These attractive stamps showed Prince Rainier III and the beautiful American actress Grace Kelly. Designed by Detaille from a photo by Jules Piel and Gravure printed by B. Minne. They were issued on April 19, 1956. Perf. 13.
There were five stamps:

1 franc dark green (15,000,000 sold)

2 franc dark carmine (7,100, 000 sold)

3 franc blue (6,200,000 sold)

5 franc bright yellow green (5,000,000 sold)

15 franc reddish-brown (2,700,000 sold)
There was also a miniature sheet.
The wedding of Princess Grace of Monaco and Prince Rainier of Monaco, 1956. It’s been called the wedding of the century. In 1956, Hollywood royalty joined European royalty when Grace Kelly became Princess Grace of Monaco. In a real-life fairytale, American actress Grace Kelly became a princess when she married Monaco’s Prince Rainier.

The ceremony at Monaco’s St. Nicholas Cathedral was attended by around 600 people including movie stars like Cary Grant, Ava Gardner, and Gloria Swanson, and society notables Aristotle Onassis and Conrad Hilton.
She chose Academy Award-winning designer Helen Rose to design her ivory lace gown. She had previously worked with the actress on the films High Society and The Swan.

The Stamp Art 1956 Monaco Royal Wedding proofs are presented without perforations ‘imperforate’ and ready for final selection by the Prince & Princess of Monaco, when the final colours were chosen and the postage stamps issued with ‘Perforations’ for general issue to the public.
