Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan – after 1906 Piet Mondrian 7 March 1872 – 1 February 1944), was a Dutch painter and art theoretician who is regarded as one of the great artists of the 20th century. He is known for being one of the pioneers of 20th-century abstract art, as he changed his artistic direction from figurative painting to an increasingly abstract style, until he reached a point where his artistic vocabulary was reduced to simple geometric elements. Mondrian’s art was highly utopian and was concerned with a search for universal values and aesthetics. He proclaimed in 1914:
“Art is higher than reality and has no direct relation to reality”.

The Stamp Art Mondrian ‘Trials’ project portrays a number of icons in ‘Trials’ using the Mondrian abstract approach as a framework to display the colour and vibrance associated with these icons to excite thought provoking artworks.
The Mondrian ‘Elvis’ trial
Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977), also known simply as Elvis, was an American singer, musician and actor. He is regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century and is often referred to as the “King of Rock and Roll” or simply “the King”. His energized interpretations of songs and sexually provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across color lines during a transformative era in race relations, led him to both great success and initial controversy.

The Mondrian ‘JFK’ trial
John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963), often referred to by his initials JFK, was an American politician who served as the 35th president of the United States from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. Kennedy served at the height of the Cold War, and the majority of his work as president concerned relations with the Soviet Union and Cuba. A Democrat, Kennedy represented Massachusetts in both houses of the U.S. Congress prior to becoming president.
In one of his first presidential acts, Kennedy asked Congress to create the Peace Corps. The organization grew to 5,000 members by March 1963 and 10,000 the year after. Since 1961, over 200,000 Americans have joined the Peace Corps, representing 139 different countries
Kennedy was famous for the term “Camelot” which came to be used retrospectively as iconic of the Kennedy administration, and the charisma of Kennedy and his family. The term was first publicly used by his wife in a post-assassination Life magazine interview with Theodore H. White, in which she revealed his affection for the contemporary Broadway musical of the same name, particularly the closing lines of the title song:
Don’t let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief, shining moment that was known as Camelot.
There’ll be great presidents again … but there will never be another Camelot.
— Jacqueline Kennedy

The Mondrian ‘Dietrich’ trial
Marie Magdalene “Marlene” Dietrich (27 December 1901 – 6 May 1992) was a German-born American actress and singer. Her career spanned from the 1910s to the 1980s.
Dietrich was an icon to fashion designers and screen stars. Edith Head remarked that Dietrich knew more about fashion than any other actress. Marlene Dietrich favoured Dior. In an interview with The Observer in 1960, she said, “I dress for the image. Not for myself, not for the public, not for fashion, not for men. In 2017, Swarovski commissioned a $60,000 Art Deco-styled dress in the style of her famous “nude dress”, from Berlin-based fashion tech company Elektro Couture to honor Dietrich 25 years after her death. It contains 2,000 crystals in addition to 150 LED lights. Elektro Couture owner Lisa Lang said that the dress was inspired by electric diagrams and correspondence that took place between the actress and fashion designer Jean Louis in 1958: “She wanted a dress that glows, she wanted to be able to control it herself from the stage and she knew she could have died of an electric stroke had it ever been realized.” The dress created by Lang’s company was featured in French-German broadcaster Art’s documentary Das letzte Kleid der Marlene Dietrich (‘The Last Dress of Marlene Dietrich‘).

Conclusion
Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan (Dutch: [ˈpitər kɔrˈneːlɪs ˈmɔndrijaːn]; 7 March 1872 – 1 February 1944), known after 1911 as Piet Mondrian (/piːt ˈmɒndriɑːn/, US also /- ˈmɔːn-/, Dutch: [pit ˈmɔndrijɑn]), was a Dutch painter and art theoretician who is regarded as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. He was one of the pioneers of 20th-century abstract art, as he changed his artistic direction from figurative painting to an increasingly abstract style, until he reached a point where his artistic vocabulary was reduced to simple geometric elements.
Mondrian’s art was highly utopian and was concerned with a search for universal values and aesthetics. He proclaimed in 1914: “Art is higher than reality and has no direct relation to reality. To approach the spiritual in art, one will make as little use as possible of reality, because reality is opposed to the spiritual. We find ourselves in the presence of an abstract art. Art should be above reality, otherwise it would have no value for man.”
