Elvis began with his rise from poverty to significant fame, Presley’s success seemed to epitomize the American Dream. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, and was commercially successful in many genres, including pop, country, R&B, adult contemporary, and gospel.
Of Presley’s films in the 1960s, 15 were accompanied by soundtrack albums and another 5 by soundtrack EPs. The films’ rapid production and release schedules—he frequently starred in three a year. According to Jerry Leiber, the soundtrack formula was already evident before Presley left for the Army: “three ballads, one medium-tempo [number], one up-tempo, and one break blues boogie”.

In the first half of the decade, three of Presley’s soundtrack albums were ranked number one on the pop charts, and a few of his most popular songs came from his films, such as “Can’t Help Falling in Love” (1961) and “Return to Sender” (1962). “Viva Las Vegas”, the title track to the 1964 film, was a minor hit as a B-side, and became truly popular only later.
As Marsh described, Presley was “arguably the greatest white gospel singer of his time [and] really the last rock & roll artist to make gospel as vital a component of his musical personality as his secular songs”

The Stamp Art Elvis ‘Film’ collection celebrates “Elvis in The Movies” in a display of full sets of numbered limited edition and special editions sheets of GB postage stamp sheets that are seen together for the first time in a modern art display foe the viewer to appreciate the mammoth achievement of this iconic artist.

From “Blue Hawaii” ladies and gentlemanWise men say
Only fools, only fools rush in
Oh, but I, but I, I can’t help falling in love with youShall I stay?
Would it be, would it be a sin?
If I can’t help falling in love with youLike a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things, you know, are meant to beTake my hand
Take my whole life too
For I can”t help falling in love with you
For I can”t help falling in love with you
Yeah

Return to sender
Return to senderI gave a letter to the postman
He put it his sack
Bright early next morning
He brought my letter backReturn to sender, address unknown
No such number, no such zone
We had a quarrel, a lover’s spat
I write I’m sorry but my letter keeps coming backSo then I dropped it in the mailbox
And sent it special D
Bright and early next morning
It came right back to meReturn to sender, address unknown
No such person, no such zoneThis time I’m gonna take it myself
and put it right in her hand
And if it comes back the very next day then I’ll understandReturn to sender,
address unknown No such number, no such zone
Return to sender
Return to sender
Return to sender
Return to sender…
